Jandal Pair Stud Earrings
These New Zealand cultural icons are a symbol of freedom, celebrating our laid-back Kiwi lifestyle, and long hot summers at the beach. A happy result of good old Kiwi ingenuity, the humble jandal, was first crafted in an Auckland garage back in the fifties. Although rarely used by anyone other than us Kiwis, the term ‘jandal’ is an ingenious combination of ‘Japanese’ and ‘sandal’. Every December, National Jandal Day celebrates this much-loved footwear and raises funds or Surf Life Saving NZ.
